Petrolia Band
Here you will find pics from the collection of a Petrolia living legend, musician and friend of Heritage. None other than Mr. Norman Sutherland. I must thank Norm for access to his great collection of Petrolia Band pics. For those of you that know Norm you will be able to spot him in numerous of the groups. Hopefully someone will print the names and send them to me so I can get rid of the JPGs.

 The Zimmerman Concert Band ca.1920s. Obviously not only a band but did some vaudevillian comedy as well. Also some great well known Petrolia names.

Dear  Musical Friends
Attached are 14 pages of Percie Cox's  biography written in 1989
by his daughter Frances (95 years old now and still living).
{as of June 2015}
I was given this by Joyce Trapp of London, formerly of Brigden and Petrolia .
I will be sending a copy to the Lambton County archives.
Mr. Cox was my first  mentor and I commenced lessons with him on the
E flat upright alto horn at the age of 9.
This biography has filled in a lot of gaps for me.
Enjoy.

Petrolia Band 'Old Boys Reunion ca.1908'

Greetings

Today I was looking at my great Aunt Ida Pequegnat's photo album and I found these pictures. I thought you may find them interesting.

I have no idea what the connection was. My father was a Baptist pastor in Courtright back in the 1940's, well after this photo.

We are always looking for vintage Petrolia pics of anything to buy or borrow for copying. If you have pictures that I can borrow I only need a few minutes to scan them.
