Interesting Petrolia Bottles
On this page will be interesting Petrolia bottles. Some of these bottles were found while digging in the ravine behind Lancey Hall and deep in the back yard. There were many early bottle shards and partial bottles that I sold to a local collector. These included whiskies, sodas and milks. (and more) I have plans to search for the privy site. Since Lancey Hall was built ca.1876 there will be some interesting finds.
I will also include some of my early fruit jars, not found on site.

These are some early inks that I found in the ravine. There were others but broken. The blue ink in the middle is quite primitive with open pontil. The poison bottle far right was given to me in trade for some other bottles. (I was just asked age on these inks, probably between ca.1870s to 90s)

These embossed medicines are from left WH.Dale Drugest Petrolia, Jackson & C0 Petrolia Ont., George Denham Petrolia Ont.
These medicines date between ca.1880s to ca.1930s)

On the left is embossed Fellows Syrup (ca.1880s to 90s). Dr Kilmers Swamp Root (not found on site but ca.1880s). Far right Dr. Pierce's Prescription (ca.1880s to ca.1900)

This group was found in my Great Gramma's pantry on Eureka st. Probably from ca.1910s to ca.1940's. Especially nice is the blue poison ca.1930's (?) from McCormicks Drug Store Petrolia.

A group of more bottles but not from Lancey Hall ravine. Some of these are from a dump on Douglass Line near Forest and some are trades for other bottles from collectors or a just given to me.

On the lower right is a little Edison battery oil embossed bottle. I have never seen another one like it. Found out it's ca.1915 or 20s

Interesting bott from backyard dig. Blob top with shoulder seam, bubbles and very whittled. Also very scripted 'E' or "W' on base.See bottom on right.

Another bonus item are some of my jars. Also not from our ravine but mostly from many sources.

Nice view of the whittled GEM (right) pat. date ca,1858 with ground lid and bubles

Second from left is the early CROWN and the King in the middle, also 2 QUEENS. There are many more but these are the highlights. Sorry but the best ones were sold or given away many years ago.
